Crying over Unfinished Work

Okay so another funny story from work. Today I was sitting with a reading group where they had to come up with words that had certain word endings and write them down on a worksheet. So Kris had said that they needed to get at least one whole page done before they could go out to recess.

So in one of my groups before we rotated I checked to see who needed to stay in and finish. There were about three little boys that had to stay in. I gathered their papers and all of a sudden one of the little boys tarts to cry!--Okay maybe it was more like whimpering but his little eyes got red and he started talking about how he had did his work and wasn't goofing off.

It was kind of heartbreaking to watch but i guess rules are rules. During recess after he finished at least another page of work he ended up making it out to play. So in the end I guess he got what he wanted. Anyways the whole little situation made me laugh!

True love?

Okay so funny story: So tonight after mommy and daddy got back from a meeting at the stake center we had milk and brownies. So Mommy Jake and I sat and ate brownies and drank milk.

When Jake was done He came over to give me a hug before he went to bed. I was sitting on the stool he had to hug me from behind.

Thinking quckly, after jake had his arm around me, I hung on and wouldn't let him go then I said "Quick Mommy take a picture!" "I won't smile. I'll frown." said Jake. He didn't frown.

I was successful in finding a ticklish spot. He smiled! anyways I finally let him go and he stalked away from me to go to bed.  I Love you my lil brother!

When I grow old I Want to be a Coke

Okay so super funny story from work today. So today at school, I was sitting at one of the reading groups with the kids. At my center they were supposed to write about what they wanted to be when they grow up. Kris told them that if they didn't know how to spell a word they just need to sound it out as best they could.

So in one of my groups I asked one of the girls what she want to be when she grew up. "I want to be a cook." she told me, and I told her to write it down. After she had written it down she gave me her paper so I could check it before she drew her picture.

I couldn't help but laugh a little when I read her paper, it said " When I grow up I want to be a Coke. I want to be a Coke because it is fun! I started laughing a little.

I had to try really hard to keep a straight face and laugh out  loud;however some of the kids heard me laugh of course and asked me what was so funny, I just told them I remembered something funny not revealing my true reason at laughter :).

Then one of the little boys out of the blue asked me how old I was. "I'm old" i told Porter; then he asked me "Like over 114 years old?" I told him if I was that old I'd be dead. "Or you'd just walk much slower" one of the girls told me. I had to laugh at that too! then I leaned over to Porter and whispered to him that I was 21 years old.

"So you are older than 114!" one of the kids told me....Yeah apparently they don't know how to count to 20? anyways I had a blast with my little kids today. They just make me laugh sometimes!

Date Night!

So tonight Jimmy and I went out on a date! We had dinner, ate ice cream, walked on the Green Belt, found an awesome tree, took pictures and had a wonderful grand adventure. So we started with dinner at the Flat Bread in Bown Crossing.

My Tomato Basil soup, which was incredibly delicious by the way!
I ordered the Tomato Basil soup for an appetizer, Jimmy got a sandwich that came with chips and then we shared a Margarita pizza--actually we both only had about one piece of pizza and then we asked for a box to go.
After diner we walked down to Powells. Erica was working tonight so we gave her the rest of our pizza since she told us she was starving. Anyways we both ordered some gelato, then sat down in Powells to watch Willy Wonka and enjoy our delicious treat.

After we finished we were on our way again and took a walk on the Green Belt. Jimmy had told me about a tree on the Green Belt that he used to play on as a kid, so we decided to see if we could still find it. Well guess what? we found it! it was this huge beautiful tree! We then took turns taking pictures of each other next to the tree.
After we were done hangin' around this awesome tree we kept walking; eventually we came across a bench, sat down, took a little breather and kept talking. We also enjoyed some chocolate that I had purchased.
While we were sitting and talking we started talking about our favorite childhood memories, specifically movies.

We started talking about some of the great Disney classics that we grew up watching, then we came up with the idea that w\we should go back and have a marathon of all the great Classics! i.e. The Princess Bride, The Lion King, Willy Wonka and of course Pete's Dragon!
So on our way back on the Green Belt we ran into a few friends which we chatted for a few minutes with and then kept walking. When we got back to the house we pulled out The Princess Bride and had a blast watching it, quoting it and picking up things we didn't even notice before!
After the movie was over it was late and I said good bye to Jimmy, yup it was a great date and definitely one to remember. Thanks Jimmy for a great time!

We went to the mall, did a  little bit of shopping, had lunch, a bit more shopping and then we went to Deseret Book! We had lots of fun at Deseret Book. Here's some  pictures from our adventure!

Us eating our ice cream from the official BYU Creamery!

KaDee got her eyes dialated before we left and had to wear the funny sunglasses they give you. I begged her and begged her, and finally she let me snap this picture of her!

Olympic highlights+Picture Scavenger hunt+homemade ice cream= awesome day!

Did everyone get to watch the Olympics today?? if not here's what you missed: Synchronized swimming, Equestrian, and some pretty awesome gymnastics! first synchronized swimming, the only thing I think I can say about that is that its creepy! all the swimmers looked like they had plastic hair and faces. Basically they looked like swimming dolls competing in the Olympics.
Equestrian was much more exciting to watch as the horses as they jumped and leaped over fences ( I'm not sure if that's the official Olympic word for  them or what, but I don't care). I think Britain won the gold in this event.
One thing I have noticed though is that all of the horses seemed to have odd and funny names like " Gin & Juice", "Miners frolic", "Riddle Master","Mystery Whisper", and "Mister Pooh". anyways in all  I thought it was probably the most exciting event of the day to watch.
And of course gymnastics is always fun and super intense! just love all those gymnastic men! their so huge and buff! :)
Anyways apart from watching the Olympics tonight for  Home Evening we did a picture scavenger hunt! it was lots of fun! here are what we had to find:

1- A couple holding hands

2- The Library

3- A statute

4- A famous person

5- A dinosaur

6- A squirrel in  a tree

7-Someone wearing white pants

(he-he ours was not only wearing white pants, he was a super hero on top of that! :] )

8- A convertible

And lots of other fun stuff too! Anyways our team won for being the most creative and getting the most things on the list.
and here is our winning team!

After the activity was over me and Annika and I went over to Carolyn and miranda's apartment and ate homemade icecream with hot fudge, caramel topping and  Kit-Kats! it was really good!

yup awesome day!

:D
